About me

Inés Verheyleweghen (b. 2000) is a Belgian-Spanish freelance photojournalist.

In 2023, she graduated in journalism (Master Degree) from l'Institut des Hautes Études des Communications Sociales (IHECS) located in Brussels, Belgium. During one semester, she specialized in photojournalism at the Danish School of Media and Journalism (DMJX) in Aarhus, Denmark, where she was one of the ten international students selected for the Photo 1 program.

Over the last five years she has become increasingly interested in the post-Soviet space. Her photographic approach is documentary, focusing mainly on human and social issues. The impact of war, roots and identity, and the sense of belonging are recurring themes in her work.

After an internship as a photojournalist for Chai Khana - a multimedia platform that documents the South Caucasus region -  she decided to stay in Tbilisi, Georgia, where she is now based.

She is fluent in four languages (FR, ES, NL, EN) and studies Russian and Georgian.
